Our History
Entrepreneurs Sture Sundberg and Carl Hugo Péters opened the door to a world of possibilities when they saw the potential in what would become the innovative bagging system known as Longopac. Their vision was clear: to improve working conditions in waste management and bring a new dimension to sustainability. The folding technique was patented as early as 1977, and by 1980, Paxxo AB was officially founded.
To make the system even more accessible for businesses, Paxxo focused on extending the cassette length and reducing the film thickness. The major breakthrough came in 1996 when Paxxo began producing the film in-house. Today, the cassettes are twice as long, the film thickness has been halved, and environmental responsibility has become a cornerstone of the company’s business philosophy.
Sture and Carl Hugo were not just business leaders — they were pioneers who revolutionised waste management. Today, Paxxo remains focused not only on commercial success but also on environmental and workplace sustainability. Longopac is a Swedish innovation that has earned global recognition and continues to stand as a shining example of sustainable entrepreneurship.
The company is now fully owned by the Péters family.
